She is a graduate teaching assistant at the Faculty of Digital Production and a PhD student currently based in Serbia. Her background is interdisciplinary, since it covers both design and engineering. Her current research is focused on different applications of virtual reality technology. She is interested in exploring different ways to connect art and technology.

PhD student in Power, electronic and telecommunication engineering at the Faculty of technical sciences (University of Novi Sad), she teaches: Basics of virtual reality, Immersive virtual reality and Digital interactivity. Her previous work experience includes position of a 3D artist for Purezeen design studio and a student demonstrator at the Faculty of technical sciences (course titles: Scene architecture, Scene technique and Scene design).

Jovana’s current research is focused on different applications of virtual reality technology. She has published and presented several papers on this topic: “VR as an Opportunity for the Building Investment with the Possibility of the Risk Analysis of the Atypical Locations”; “VR in a Function of Improving Public Urban Needs”.

She got the best paper award at the ZINC Conference for the paper “The VR Simulation of Hydrological Data”. For the project “VR Simulation of the Extension of Zemun Quay”, she won 1st prize award at the Urbanism Salon (Ruma, Serbia) in the category Digital techniques, design and production in architecture and urbanism; Media presentation of architecture and urbanism. MIT Media Lab and Bavarian Film Centre granted Jovana scholarships for workshops organised by them.

Showroom space in BSBcore building

Showroom is an indoor environment that showcases BSB core slab. It is a redesign of an existing space in Broad company. Space expresses lightness, strength and beauty of the material. Overall aesthetic is futuristic and bold. Central piece is a chandelier that is a conceptual representation of the inner structure of BSB core slab. Stainless steel panels hung from the ceiling showcase the lightness of such a durable material. Pieces of furniture, such as a chair and a table enhance trust between its users and the material. Other elements are exhibition like to convey high end design of BSB core slab. Showroom is a statement in the eyes of visitors of Broad company.
